If life is to imitate art, then Demon Shadow is a masterpiece born from a real-life story of deception and greed. Set to produce their first independent film, the plan of two partners quickly descends into conflict. Nearly six years later, Demon Shadow represents Samad Naamad’s directorial debut and embodies most every aspect of his creativity, vision, and above all, perseverance.
When the original footage of the film was stolen by a disingenuous ex-partner, and the use of the footage is mired in protracted legal proceedings, and later sabotaged, the production of Demon Shadow is forced to be reincarnated. The plot, story, characters --and much of the footage and audio -- has been painstakingly recreated – inspired by the events of the film’s real-life genesis of conflict. Produced & directed by Samad Naamad, it is a testament to his never losing sight of his original vision.

Demon Shadow was created and produced on a tightly-controlled $25,000 budget in and around Boston, Massachusetts and Los Angeles. The film was shot on [3/4 SVHS] over a six-week period and spent an additional eight months in post production.
